God's Blessing, Friends

God’s Blessing

Have you ever noticed how some people always seem to add joy and spice to our life and we can’t wait to see them even when we have nothing to do? They lift our spirits up when we are down. Their voice is enough to put a smile on our face and let us forget our troubles. When we fall, they catch us and set our feet back on solid ground. Be it tears of joy or tears of sorrow; they put their strong arms around us and hold us tight. Their presences is enough to keep at bay our fears. Their ears are always ready to listen over a cup of coffee or chocolate no matter what the time of night or struggles in their own life. We can let them see our heart both the good and the bad, for they will still love and accept us even knowing our faults. At times they lovingly advice and correct us for our pain is also theirs. Their shoulders help to carry our burdens when we cannot hold its full weight and we are always in their prayers. When our heart is broken into a million pieces, they will still pick up each one and place it tenderly back together. They give of their time, their money, their hearts and themselves, expecting nothing in return. They are equally happy to celebrate our victories and forget our defeats. Our wrongs against them, they do not remember, but forgive us. They remember instead the joyful times, when we have dance and sang into the morning light, walked quietly beside as stream, shopped until we dropped, and climbed to the mountain’s top. They look forward to spending time with us almost as much as we do with them. Each second that we know them is a blessing. Miles and time may temporarily separate us. But, it does not matter how long we have been apart for we are never out of each other hearts. They are one of the few things left that still grow only better with age. Some are found when we are very young, some later in life, and some when we are old. All are more precious that silver or gold and sweeter than the finest honey. I would rather have one of them than all the diamonds in the world. They make the journey of life worthy it and us a better person because we had a chance to know them. We must never take them for granted or let them slip away, but always hold the close to our hearts for they are to be prized for the gift they are from God. They are called friends and I am blessed to call you one.
